Opening Weekend for Barefoot in the Park

500 patrons came to a fantastic opening of Barefoot in the Park. The rain did not deter the crowds and they were rewarded with a hilarious show.

As in any comedy, it helps if the material is good. But good materal isn't enough to make a great show. The actors in Barefoot rise to the occasion by finding the humor rooted in their characters. A conservative husband, a bubbly wife, a reticent mother-in-law and a beret-sporting squatter provide Simon with plenty of ammunition for this situational comedy. Yes, the 1960's represented a time of political unrest and innocence lost. But Barefoot in the Park’s narrative evokes nostalgia for an era that changed America.
