Which "Attaboy" Do You Prefer?

Department of Defense, United States of AmericaNo Time for Sergeants had a incredible opening weekend. The cast and crew received two honors: one from a reviewer (David Dow Bentley III) and one from Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Holland.

"It was Saturday night on Sept. 11, a somber date in American history to say the least. So it was most appropriate that before the Crighton Theatre curtain rose on Ira Levin’s hilarious comedy, No Time for Sergeants, director, Carolyn Corsano Wong, came on stage to welcome the audience, and asked that everyone first rise for a moment of silence in memory of the lives lost on that unforgettably tragic day. It was also very appropriate that in this time of continuing war abroad, Stage Right has decided that every performance of this new production will offer free admission to service veterans and their spouses. But perhaps the best thing being offered would be hilarity plain and simple. This may very well be the best comedy performance I have ever seen in the great state of Texas!" - David Dow Bentley III. Read the entire review here.

CSM Holland gave the cast and crew a commemorative coin for the benefit performance of No Time for Sergeants and for working with the US Troop Support Foundation to collect items for active duty troops. While we believe it is important both as individuals and as an organization to do the right thing whether or not the effort is acknowledged, it is always nice to get a "pat on the back" once in a while. Thanks once again to Darrel's Catering who donated the BBQ dinner for the Lone Star Honor Flight (WWII veterans). See the pictures from the benefit event here. To remember the service of these brave men and women we are highlighting a little seen documentary on World War II.

No Time for Sergeants performances continue until Sept. 26.
