STAGE RIGHT of Texas, resident theatre company at the historic Crighton Theatre, announces auditions for the Neil Simon's comedy Rumors on Feb. 14-15 at 7 pm. The show is directed by Travis Bryant.
Rumors a farce in two acts, set in Palisades, that shows a dinner party gone topsy-turvy. An enjoyable romp that has been staged countless times all over the country, this is one of Simon's most celebrated comedies. But it carries a subtle undercurrent of sadness, which becomes more clear when we set it alongside the events of the playwright's life.

STAGE RIGHT of Texas, resident theatre company at the historic Crighton Theatre, announces auditions for the musical The Producers Dec. 6 & 7 at 7 pm. The dates have been changed from when originally announced. The show is directed by Manny Cafeo.
A down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive "Springtime For Hitler"), hiring a director, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends. – Music Theatre International

Critics and audiences agreed; STAGE RIGHT of Texas, resident theatre company at the historic Crighton Theatre, first production of CHRISTMAS BELLES in 2008 was a hoot and a half! It was so popular they brought it back in 2010 and are bringing it back again this holiday season as part of their ‘Season of Love & Laughter”. The show will be directed by Jim Bingham. Many of the original cast will be returning however, there are 5 roles to be filled:
Twink Futrelle – female 35- 45 yr-the middle Futrelle sister and in prison for setting most of the town on fire when she tried to burn her boyfriend’s NASCAR memorabilia in a jealous rage
Justin Waverly – male 20-30 yr.-shy interim pastor at the Tabernacle of the Lamb Church, and in love with Gina Jo but afraid to tell her
Gina Jo (G.J.) Dubberly, Frankie and Dub’s daughter, 20’s. Guileless and enthusiastic
Raynerd Chisum, adult male. Part-time employee at The Dairy Dog, very simple and earnest, always speaks from the heart.
Patsy Price, 40-60. Elegant society matron, high-class and believes she is the only one who can save the disaster fraught Christmas pageant.
Auditions for these roles will be held at the Crighton Theatre on Oct. 11 & 12 at 7 pm. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Those auditioning should bring a headshot and resume if they have one and their calendars so any conflicts between Oct and Dec can be noted. Contact the director at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions about the auditions, the show or to volunteer to help backstage.
The story revolves around squabbling sisters, a family secret, a vengeful sheep and a reluctant Elvis impersonator. Despite all the chaos encountered when putting on a church Christmas pageant, the true meaning of Christmas is at the heart of this delightful play written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Show dates are Dec. 4-20 with Friday & Saturday performances at 8 pm and three Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Performances will be held at the historic Crighton Theatre at 234 N. Main in downtown Conroe. Tickets for CHRISTMAS BELLES can be obtained by calling the Crighton Theatre box office at 936-441-SHOW (7469) or online at www.stage-right.org .
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Shrek the Musical! This show broke the record for the highest number of tickets (4285 tickets) for any event in Crighton Theatre history by surpassing the Buddy Holly Story in 2008 (4096 tickets). Having been in both shows, I can tell you that both were incredible musicals and very popular with audiences. Both ran a minimum of 10 performances. Both shows had talented casts and awesome backstage crews. But as Gen. Patton once said, "all glory is fleeting". The cast and crew will miss working together but will support each other as they embark on new adventures. Now on to the next show!
