15-16 Season

41 Dogs with New Homes

If anyone thinks that you "just do theatre", think again. Thanks to the collaboration of three non-profits - Operation Pets Alive, Cloud Nine Rescue, and the 3700+ patrons who came to see Legally Blonde the Musical - Stage Right was able to fund a flight to take 41 dogs to new homes. Without this funding no flight this month would have left Conroe. See the youtube video that celebrates this achievement. What we can do together is amazing!

Last Weekend for Legally Blonde

Over 3700 people came to see Legally Blonde. This makes it the third highest attended show after Shrek the Musical and Singin' in the Rain. Even better, we were able to raise over $4500 dollars for Operation Pets Alive. Stage Right will get their own flight for life!

After the show the cast sang (what else) to video karaoke with the biggest "TV" around - the 24 foot screen on the stage of the Crighton theatre. While the cast is going many separate ways, they made this a summer to remember. Now on to the 2016-2017 season of Fantasy!

Second Weekend for Legally Blonde

Almost 1300 patrons came to see Legally Blonde this weekend. We have been surprised at the appeal of the show across all age ranges. While it is definitely not a show for everyone, the high energy songs and fast paced dialogue make for a fun time! Thanks to all the large groups that came for a fun, shared experience.

We have also raised $2500 to date for Operation Pets Alive. At this pace we should be able to fund our own flight for life for a set of rescue dogs needing a home! Help us to reach that goal!

See the promotional videos a la carpool karaoke or check out the production photos! We've also added some new interviews with cast and crew members.

Memorial for Larry Ransberger

It is with deep sorrow that we note the passing of Larry Ransberger. He was a fixture in the greater Houston theatre community. While he was instrumental during the growth of Playhouse 1960 for the past 20 years, he also was one of the first from the Houston theatres to join us in our efforts to make the greater Houston theatre community a more kind, cooperative environment. He helped us re-create No Time for Sergeants at the historic Crighton and co-produced Always, Patsy Cline when we took the show on tour.

His memorial will be held at Klein Funeral Home at 2 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Klein Funeral Home Chapel, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas 77065

Opening Night for Legally Blonde

Don't Miss Legally Blonde the Musical! A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde the Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal! Join over 1000 patrons who are laughing and dancing with us on opening weekend! You may like our version so much you will stop listening to the Broadway or London versions!

See the promotional videos a la carpool karaoke or check out the production photos!

During the run of Legally Blonde we will be collecting donations for Operation Pets Alive! Performances are on July 8-24, 2016. Help us to save animals and have a great time!

Romeo and Harriet

Bravo Company presents this hilarious musical spoof puts the "shake" in Shakespeare! With the help of a group of quarreling chorus members - Oregano, Carpaccio, Risotto, Prosciutto, Antipasto, Pesto, Mayo and Romano - we get a deliciously funny spoof of Romeo and Juliet. Their comedic and intelligent commentary seasons the show with laughter galore so actors and audience alike wont even realize they're learning about Shakespeare!

The stage is set in modern-day New York City, where clerks of the swanky Montague's Department store and the second-rate Capulet's Discount Mart meet in the street to trade insults. Words are their daggers, so watch out, you might die laughing! Naturally, the heirs to these two retail empires, Romeo and Harriet, fall in love, but don't think you know the rest...this musical has a happy ending! "Humph. Call yourself a tragedy," exclaims Oregano at the end of the show, disappointed to find no dead bodies. Nope, it's pure comedy with pie fights in place of duels, a nurse obsessed with paper cuts, Romeo dressed in a white leisure suit a la John Travolta and an outrageous parody of the most romantic scene in literature. A fun, eclectic collection of musical numbers underscores all this hilarity, including a number in iambic pentameter! It would be a real tragedy to miss out on this one!

See Romeo and Harriet at the historic Crighton Theatre on May 20-21, 2016!

Last Weekend for Rumors

Just one more weekend to experience the hilarity that makes Rumors! See the production pictures from DWC Photography or the promotional video that also includes the production pictures.
